Your benefits
Why EDI is a must-have for your Amazon Vendor business
As an Amazon Vendor, you supply Amazon directly and benefit from its huge reach. To make the most of this potential, you should support Amazon’s EDI requirements – seamlessly integrated into your own system.
Retail and Advantage
EDI adapts to your Amazon business model
With the EDI connection to Amazon Vendor Central, you control the EDI business processes Amazon requires directly from your ERP – regardless of your business model. EDI covers both the regular wholesale business (Retail) and the consignment business (Advantage). In the Retail business, you issue the invoice when the goods ship. In the Advantage model, Amazon sells on your behalf and invoicing takes place only after the goods are sold. If you switch models, you do not need to integrate a new EDI process.
-
At the start of the process chain, Amazon sends the purchase order directly to your ERP (ORDERS).
-
You send the order confirmation to Amazon automatically via EDI (ORDRSP).
-
Shipping automatically triggers the dispatch advice to Amazon (DESADV).
-
In the regular wholesale business, the invoice is also sent to Amazon automatically (INVOIC).

Frequently asked questions about EDI for Amazon Vendor
Amazon Vendor is a direct supply model: you sell your goods to Amazon, and Amazon resells them to end customers. Amazon Seller is the marketplace where you sell directly to end customers yourself. EDI is relevant for the Vendor model, not for the marketplace.
Amazon expects its suppliers to meet tight response times in the process chain of purchase order (ORDERS), order confirmation (ORDRSP), dispatch advice (DESADV) and invoice (INVOIC). If you handle these processes manually instead of via EDI, you risk missing deadlines – and with that, penalties and extra work. With EDI, all four processes run automatically and on time.
In the Amazon Vendor Retail business, you supply Amazon and issue the invoice when the goods ship. In the Advantage model, Amazon sells the goods on your behalf; invoicing takes place only after the sale, which is why the INVOIC EDI process is not needed here. The EDI connection from JTL flexibly supports both models.
Yes. You register with Amazon Vendor Central and complete your contractual onboarding as a supplier directly with Amazon yourself; Amazon provides you with the login credentials. You set up the basic EDI settings in the portal; we take care of the technical connection to your ERP.
Yes, the EDI connection can be extended to other European Amazon country entities. A direct EDI connection to individual Amazon warehouses is also possible.
Amazon also offers the EDI processes PRICAT (item master data to Amazon), SLSRPT (sales reports from Amazon) and INVRPT (inventory reports from Amazon). Implementation depends on the individual case and data quality and is discussed individually.
